Monthly Photo Challenge: North Chagrin Reservation — May

This is the month when North Chagrin Reservation morphed into a lush garden. You will see in the early part of the month things have thawed but the trees are not yet in full foliage. But today, even though the clouds gathered and the rain fell, the splendor of this place was in full bloom! This month’s portfolio depicts the transformation from very early spring to the full-blown season. And by the way, I didn’t count the number of photos I am posting so forgive me if I exceed the suggested limit. It’s just that everything is so lively and beautiful now. 🙂

Monthly Photo Challenge: North Chagrin Reservation — April

It finally began to feel like spring this month! When I first began shooting photos for this post there was still thin ice on the ponds, which you will notice in these pics. But as the month progressed and the weather warmed, the ice melted, migratory birds returned, and spirits soared. My biggest excitement thus far was the return of the Great Blue Heron! There were also flowers that bloomed and buds on trees. Spring is finally HERE!

70/365 Photo Challenge 2015

I had the opportunity to go for a walk at the reservation today. The sun was out. The snow is melting. And the cacophony of birds chirping and pecking, including this Downy Woodpecker, was music to my ears! Soon comes Spring!

Spring fever! This is my gardening hat. It’s been hanging on this door since last gardening clean-up in late fall. I am anxiously awaiting the day I can don this beautiful straw head gear and head out once again to dig in the dirt, plant the seed, and bask in the sun! Presently we have mountains of snow outside — literally — so dreaming of spring-time reminds me that the snow is only for a season. Spring will follow.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Together

Blossoms clustered together . . . lovely!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Two Subjects

Both photos have two subjects. 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Ready

I wasn’t going to enter this week’s challenge because earlier I posted to Jake’s Sunday photography challenge. But as I sat here today, looking out my window, I noticed that the trees were already growing buds in readiness for spring. It seems rather early to me, but then we are nearing the middle of February. I love Spring more than any other season because it signals rebirth and new life. Color gradually reappears in the landscape, and even the chirping of the birds has a spring-time lilt to it. I am so ready for Spring and the renewed energy and zest that comes with the season. So, while these photos are nothing special, they take on meaning when seen in the scheme of life’s ongoing cycles. The trees are readying themselves to burst forth in bloom and color in spring! So am I! 🙂
