I had so much fun with this one! These toys are ones that I’ve had for 20, 30, or more years. Some my children played with, some were given to me at different points in time, but all are now there for the grandchildren. Please note the doll bed (or tiny portions of the bed that show). My grandfather made it for us granddaughters. Since I was the youngest granddaughter on that side of the family, the bed was passed no further once it reached me. Needless to say, it is a cherished family heirloom now. I hope you enjoy the photos! 🙂
Honey and apples are a staple at many meals during this time on the Jewish calendar. In fact, we drizzle honey over many food items during the holidays signifying our wishes for a sweet new year. Everywhere one turns, there are honey cakes, honey-apple bars, honey and date cookies. Various fruits, common and exotic, adorn our tables. This is a festive time (Rosh Hoshana through Simchas Torah) as we celebrate the beginning of a new year and enjoy tasty delicacies that are both symbolic and delicious.
During the school quarter I grew lax in keeping up with the various photo challenges. Now that I’m on break, I’ll try to squeeze a few in. For this challenge I’ll rerun a post from last year. It was my first ever attempt with slides and music. For the slide show only, click here. (No matter how hard I tried, I could never get the slide show and the music to end at the same time. Oh well, it’s still fun to watch!)
For the entire blog (not that long), here you go!
Rainy Days and Mondays . . .
Have a great weekend!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Sunday Post. Life is busy, wonderful, tiring, frustrating, happy, etc. and as you can see, my blog has been reduced to primarily posting the weekly photo challenge. But just so you know, I miss you and your blogs. I miss taking time to write and reflect, not that I’m not writing these days. I am. But it is all academic and sterile and boring. It has to be done though, to move me to where I want to be. So other than jaunts away from the house to shoot photos now and then (R&R away from the books), I haven’t done much creative ‘stuff’ (unless you count gardening ~ another activity that revives my spirit). Today however, on a whim, I checked out the theme for the weekly Sunday Post. Splendid! Wow! I couldn’t pass this one up. There are soooooo many images and thoughts and experiences that fit this theme, the most difficult part was choosing what to publish. Due to the fact that I have another paper due later today, and other assignments to work on, too, I will post a few images that have yet to see any published page! I hope you enjoy. And thank you for stopping by to see what I’ve been up to. I always appreciate it. And I ask your forgiveness that I am sporadic about visiting your blogs. I do hope that in good time I will be able to return to blog hopping but now the priority is to finish school (Dec. 2013, B”H). Enjoy the photographs, and may this week be filled with abundant blessings for you all.
