How Emmy-Award Winning Johnnetta Mcswain Broke the Curse

This is the second post I’m reposting today. Thanks to gigoid for sending me to this page. Read the whole post. It is a painful read, but there is hope. Sharing the story helps others to break the cycle. My prayers to all who endure abuse in whatever form it takes.

  1. I have an enormous amount of sympathy and respect for those who have been so tormented as children. Strangely, I feel it is because I had a warm, loving family and no one ever laid a finger on me unless it was a warm hug, that I feel some connection – although it is something I can never fully understand. And recently, a friend confided that his first wife and his current spouse were victims as children. I see how it has affected him and understand that every violation is like a stone thrown on calm water – it creates ripples throughout families and our whole society. Thanks for sharing the story. These stories cannot remain underground. They must be brought to have light shown on them.

    1. Hugs to you, Annie. Although this is a heart wrenching story, it also shows the power of nurture, care and support to help victims become victorious over their circumstances. Hugs and Blessings to you.
