An Update

Dad continues to improve. I talked with Mom and my brother last night and there is a realistic hope that he will move out of ICU and into a regular room today. I’ll keep you posted. I shot this picture of DadΒ in July this year, while Richard and I vacationed in Kentucky. In August he and Mom went camping in the St. Louis, Missouri, area. He is 80 years old and Mom is 82. They don’t act it, so this scare has been a real wake-up call for us. I thank you all for the comments and emails offering support through your prayers and positive energy sent our way. It is a humbling experience to realize that people I have never met face-to-face would offer such care and concern. Again I offer you my gratitude. I will continue to update as need be. I “heart” you all. (The blogging vocabulary sometimes says it best. πŸ™‚ )

  1. Hi cecelia,
I had not been visiting blogs of friends for a while because I had been really busy. Just read about your father and hope that his condition continue to improve and that he will be able to go home soon. always take care…

  2. That is very, very good news, indeed, Ms. F!
I’ll be wishing your father continues to recover from this as quickly as is possible!
I’m sure that he (and you/your family) are very much looking forward to when he gets to go back home…

  3. Cecelia, somehow in the process of “reducing” my inbox entries from “many, many” to “a managable few” I missed knowing that it is your Dad who had your family emergency. I am glad to know he is improving. The photo you took of him is precious.

Every time we go on a vacation by car, I don’t try to reduce my inbox blogging inventory. I always love watching the scenery. Now days my husband is the driver, I am the navigator, and the navigator gets to read the maps and watch out the windows. We don’t have a GPS and we don’t do online searches for destinations. I would much rather study a state highway map or use our road atlas for comparison overviews of a state and its relationship to surrounding states.

It has taken me a week to get back to “where I was when I left off” with regard to my inbox. I always take my 1960s diary with me, however, so I can still post my nightly entries and check for comments on my blog.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Barbara. I’ve gotten quite behind in the blogs with all that has been going on this week. I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. Much appreciated.
