Weekly Photo Challenge: Light

With the Cherry Blossom Festival in full swing, it only seems appropriate that I post “Light” photos with some cherry blossoms!  BTW, I shot these photos during last year’s festival with a Olympus point-and-shoot camera.  Enjoy!

    1. Thanks. This is my favorite time of year in the DC area. I absolutely LOVE the cherry blossoms. Whenever I own my own home, one of the first things I will do is plant cherry blossom trees. I look forward to seeing your photos from Brussels! Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a comment.

    1. Thanks, Eliz. The Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, is in session! LOL. Yes, anyone with any kind of a camera who lives anywhere near the district, as well as many folks who drive in for this event, are in a shooting frenzy right now! There are literally thousands of trees–gifts from the Japanese–in bloom all over the metro area. Tourists and natives alike try to get into the district, specifically the tidal basin and the national mall, to enjoy the greatest concentration of blossoms. For those of us who live in the area, there are other places–private property and public gardens–with an abundance of cherry blossom trees as well. This place becomes magical during the two to three weeks the blossoms are in bloom each year. I love it! I’ll post some photos that I tool last year when we were living in Silver Spring, MD. The pond was directly across the street from where we lived. Keep a look out for them. (Forgive me for waxing on and on…when it comes to the cherry blossoms I’m a blubbering mess…lol! Whenever I get my own place, I’m planting a few of them in my yard.)
      🙂
